This is a desert rose gifted to me by my aunt. I think they are so beautiful!

In FL I remember that there was a a huge planter on my grandma’s front porch with a very large desert rose. It was stunning as it was always full of pink blooms. My grandma could grow anything!  And they love FL sunshine.

A few years ago I was visiting with my aunt and noticed that she had several growing in pots. I mentioned that I would like to have one if she ever had any extras.

Later that year she came to my mom’s house for Christmas lunch. As she was leaving she mentioned that she had something for me. You guessed it … she brought me a desert rose.

Then she explained that when my grandma passed away she asked her husband to bring the desert rose planter to her house where she could take care of it. Eventually she started taking cuttings and rooting them herself. So, my plant is from my grandma’s original desert rose.

What a gift and reminder of God’s love for us. Gentle reminders of the value

of family and legacy. Skills learned from parents and grandparents. Abilities

and wisdom that we will pass on to future generations.

We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and His might, and the wonders that He has done.

Psalm 78:4
